Local ordinance states that dogs must be brought inside during Heat Advisory
ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind. -- The Humane Society of St. Joseph County is reminding dog owners that during a Heat Advisory, local ordinance requires that all dogs be brought indoors unless a responsible adult is outside with them and they remain within sight, and that dogs should never be left outside during a weather advisory.
A statement from the HSSJC:
"We understand that bringing pets inside isn't always easy. If you need a crate, baby gate, or other supplies to safely keep your dog indoors during extreme heat, please give us a call during regular business hours. We're happy to help whenever we can. Let's work together to keep every pet safe during this dangerous heat. Please share this reminder with fellow pet owners so we can help prevent heat-related emergencies."
