Boston College wins the toss and defers to Notre Dame.

The Irish open up the first quarter with a strong offense, gaining yards left and right against the Eagles. Five minutes in Jonathan Doerer kicks a good field goal, putting Notre Dame on the board first. Irish lead 3-0.

The Eagles return play with some big passes of their own, with Phil Jurkovec passing 4 yards to Zay Flowers into the end zone. Aaron Boumerhi gets the PAT putting the Eagles into an early lead of 7-3.

Four minutes left in the first, Boston throws several incomplete passes and finds the Irish chomping at the bit. They opt for a 41-yard field goal by Boumerhi, pushing their lead to 10-3.

That fight in the Irish gets fierce as the seconds click away in the first.

With just 11 seconds until the next quarter, Ian Book passes for 10 yards to Ben Skowronek with Doerer bringing in the PAT. Irish now tie the Eagles at 10-10.

Boston pushes hard as the 2nd quarter begins, with Boumerhi scoring a 31-yard field goal two and a half minutes in. Eagles lead 13-10.

But Notre Dame wouldn't let that stand with two big passes putting C'Bo Flemister into position for a 2-yard rush, bringing the rock home. Doerer kicks good again, pushing the Irish into the lead again 17-13.

Just under six minutes left before the half, the Irish are looking to increase their lead and a 13-yard pass from Book to Skowronek will do it. Doerer makes good on the PAT, Irish lead 24-13.

Not to be outdone, the Eagles pass big and settle for a 35-yard field goal from Boumerhi. Irish lead 24-16.

Down to the wire now with only four seconds left before the half, Notre Dame brings it home with a 7-yard pass from Book to Skowronek. Doerer does his thing and nails the PAT. Irish lead 31-16.

The third quarter would see the Irish and the Eagles go back and forth to no avail for almost ten minutes. With six and a half minutes left, Flemister rushes for 1 yard into the end zone and Doerer picks up the extra point. Irish push their lead to 38-16.

The Eagles fight the Irish for yards, passing and rushing where they can until David Bailey rushes for 3 yards into the end zone with just 35 seconds left. Boumerhi kicks for the extra point putting the Irish at a lead of 38-23.

Early in the fourth quarter the Irish start off with rush after rush and Book rushes 6 yards into the end zone. Doerer's kick is good and the Irish lead 45-23.

The Eagles won't give up the fight, though, and with four minutes left in the fourth Jurkovec passes for 8 yards to Hunter Long. Irish lead 45-29.

And just a moment later Travis Levy gets a rush. Irish still lead 45-31.

With a final score of 45-31 the Irish secure their 8th victory and increase their winning streak.
