SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- Notre Dame is one of 51 universities that are currently under investigation by the U.S. Department of Education's Office for Civil Rights.
The University is being accused of alleged racial discrimination after President Trump ordered universities to get rid of DEI programs in both grades K-12 and higher education.
This comes after universities were warned with a memo released in Feb. that universities could lose federal funding by not complying.
In response to this, the University has made the following statement:
As always, The University of Notre Dame follows the law and in no way practices or condones discrimination. As a Catholic university, we are fully committed to defending the dignity of every human person and ensuring that every person can flourish.
