NOW: Notre Dame offense aims to bring back the fireworks against NC State

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- After back-to-back offensive explosions, Notre Dame’s offense looked a bit more grounded in their 28–7 win over Boise State. The Irish still put up solid numbers — 389 total yards and 7.2 yards per play — but 11 penalties for 112 yards stalled several promising drives.

Quarterback CJ Carr remained sharp, completing 15 of 23 passes for 189 yards and two touchdowns. Still, it was a notable drop from his 354-yard, four-touchdown performance the week before at Arkansas.

The Irish running backs once again led the way. Jeremiyah Love rushed for 103 yards and a touchdown, while Jadarian Price added 83 yards, including a 49-yard burst to seal the win. “When you have the two best running backs in the country, it’s hard to be wrong in the run game,” Carr said.

In the air, wideouts Jordan Faison, Will Pauling, and Malachi Fields combined for 170 yards and two scores.

By contrast, the Arkansas game showcased the Irish at their best — 641 total yards, 32 first downs, and touchdowns on all six first-half drives.

Even with the win, the focus this week will be cleaning up penalties and regaining that Razorback-level rhythm. As the Irish prepare for NC State, their balance on offense remains a key strength — but discipline could determine just how far this team climbs in the rankings.
