Notre Dame falls to Ohio State 21-10
COLUMBUS, Ohio -- The Notre Dame Fighting Irish were defeated by the Ohio State Buckeyes, 21-10 on Saturday Night at Ohio Stadium.
Notre Dame started fast with a big gain on their first drive. They settled for a field goal to take an early lead. Ohio State would score a touchdown about halfway through the opening quarter. The Buckeyes would take a 7-3 lead to the second quarter.
Notre Dame would score on a long touchdown drive in the second quarter, making the score 10-7. The Irish defense was stout, keeping Ohio State off of the scoreboard all quarter long. Ohio State missed a field goal with under a minute remaining, and Notre Dame took a 10-7 lead into halftime.
The third quarter featured no points until the last few seconds. Ohio State scored a touchdown to take a 14-10 lead with just 17 seconds to go in the quarter.
Notre Dame had some big plays in the fourth quarter but couldn't put any points on the board. Ohio State made some dazzling plays to keep a drive alive and scored a touchdown with just under 5 minutes to go in the quarter to make it 21-10.
