Non-fatal shooting in Elkhart involving multiple minors
ELKHART, Ind. - Elkhart Police report they're investigating a shooting that happened Saturday night in the 300 block of Jackson Place.
Police say shortly before 9 p.m., Saturday, they responded to a call of a shooting with injuries on Jackson Place.
Upon arrival, police found a 12-year-old boy with a gunshot wound and rendered first aid. Medics took the boy to the hospital for treatment where the injuries were deemed non-life-threatening.
While at the scene, EPD officers were notified of two more gunshot victims in the 100 block of North Main Street.
The two other victims were 16 and 17 years old. Both were taken to the hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
EPD's initial investigation indicates that these individuals were also shot in the same incident and ran from the scene.
Officers collected evidence at the scene.
At this time, no arrests have been made, and the investigation is ongoing.
