No injuries reported in Hickory Village Apartment fire
MISHAWAKA, Ind. — The Mishawaka Fire Department was called out to Hickory Village Apartments at 11:38pm last night for reports of a fire.
When crews arrived, they immediately got to work making sure residents were okay.
Firefighters had to shelter some people in place while they worked on getting others out.
One small animal did not make it out of the fire, but no injuries or deaths of any neighbors or firefighters were reported.
The Red Cross also responded to help at least one family find shelter for the evening.
Crews were back on scene around 7:45 this morning. According to the firefighters, there was a hotspot inside the apartments.
Firefighters say it's been put out and the apartments are now boarded up.
The investigation into the cause of the fire continues.
