SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- Several changes are coming to the South Bend Public Transportation Corporation's (Transpo) operations.

In a new statement, the organization announced that changes will be made to its routes and schedules. These changes go into effect September 8.

Transpo cites "funding challenges resulting from recent state legislation, reductions in funding, along with rising operating costs."

Fares will be free from September 8 through September 12. Transpo says this will be an opportunity for passengers to familiarize themselves with the changes.
