ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Mich. -- A 60-year-old Sturgis man was killed after crashing his motorcycle into a tree in Burr Oak Township on Saturday night.
Michigan State Police responded to the crash, which occurred at a private property on Maystead Road.
Officials say the man was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The passenger of the vehicle was taken to nearby Bronson Hospital and was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
The incident remains under investigation but neither drugs nor alcohol were suspected to be a factor in the crash.
