New joint committee will address issues in South Bend schools

South Bend Community School Corporation teams with the city to address the district's biggest challenges.

During its regular meeting Monday, the South Bend Common Council passed a resolution creating a 14-person joint committee focused on improving schools with evidence-based approaches.

The mayor and superintendent will appoint members, who will look at increasing social, economic, and mental health supports, growing regional partnerships, and creating equitable opportunities for students.
