SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- The YMCA returns home to downtown South Bend.
The YMCA of Greater Michiana's new location on West Jefferson in Leighton Plaza is now officially open.
The South Bend Redevelopment Commission voted unanimously to approve moving the YMCA into Leighton Plaza back in April.
The former site for the YMCA was donated to the redevelopment commission in exchange for the new location. And the YMCA does plan to continue its presence at the O'Brien Center, now doing so with expanded services.
