SOUTH BEND, Ind. - A record crowd filled Compton Family Ice Arena on Saturday night to see Notre Dame hockey play for another conference championship.
The Irish repaid the enthusiasm with a thrilling 3-2 win over Penn State, capturing the Big Ten title and punching their ticket to the NCAA Tournament. The win also marked No. 500 for head coach Jeff Jackson, who now waits with his team to learn their destination and opponent as they attempt to return to the Frozen Four.
