Multiple departments respond to mobile home fire which left two dogs dead

VAN BUREN COUNTY, Mich. -- South Haven Emergency Services reports they provided mutual aid to the Bangor Community Fire Department for a fire in Arlington Township Wednesday night.

The report states crews responded around 10:30 p.m. to a fire at 48065 38th Avenue.

Columbia and Paw Paw Fire also provided mutual aid.

Upon arrival crews found a mobile home and adjacent residential structure under construction engulfed in flames.

Fire officials say water had to be shuttled to the scene.

The two occupants of the mobile home escaped to safety when they heard crackling noises and smelled smoke.

The two went to a neighbor's home and contacted the fire department.

Fire officials say two dogs died in the fire.
