Multiple Berrien County projects have roads closed this week

BERRIEN COUNTY, Mich. -- The Berrien County Road Department provided a few updates to road projects on Monday afternoon, including projects on Lincoln Avenue and near I-94.

Officials say Lincoln Avenue -- between Niles Avenue and Maiden Lane -- will be closed to all thru traffic Tuesday and Wednesday for manhole or structure adjustments.

On those days, only local traffic accessing properties in the work zone will be permitted and those drivers should be mindful of contractors and equipment in the work zone.

"There remains a HARD closure under the I-94 bridge due to ongoing maintenance by MDOT," Berrien County Road Department officials said. "Those navigating around that hard closure would do so through the signed detour route which takes traffic from Vineland Road to Washington Avenue to Maiden Lane. Schedule or duration timeline for the closure under the I-94 bridge is not fully known by our agency, for the latest updates regarding that project please contact MDOT."

The intersection of Lincoln Avenue and Glenlord Road intersection is still closed. Flynn Road in Chikaming Township is also closed at the CSX railroad crossing for railroad-related maintenance.
