Update 2: The Silver Alert for Carlito Chism has now been cancelled after being found.

He is safe and the mother Carrie Craword hasn't made contact with SBPD. 

Update: A Silver Alert has now been declared for Carlito Chism. 

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- The South Bend Police Department is currently attempting to locate an 8-year-old child who is allegedly in danger.

Carlito Chism is five foot tall with black dreads with gold tips, he was last seen wearing a colorful shirt and khaki shorts.

His last known location came around 11:30 a.m. in the 1000 block of Lincoln Way West.

He is allegedly traveling on foot with his 38-year-old mother Carrie Crawford.

Crawford is believed to be armed and dangerous.

If you see either Chism or Crawford, do not approach and instead, call the South Bend Police Department at 574-235-9201 or 9-1-1.
