Motorcycle driver airlifted after crash

ELKHART COUNTY, Ind. – The driver of a motorcycle suffered serious injuries after losing control of his bike and crashing on County Road 8 Saturday night.

The Elkhart County Sheriff’s Department says the driver, 41-year-old Jason Kershner, and another rider were traveling west on CR 8 when he traveled south across the eastbound lane, lost control, and crashed his motorcycle on the roadway.

The motorcycle slid and dragged the riders approximately 100 feet before coming to a rest near River Ridge Road.

According to deputies, Kershner suffered severe head trauma, road rash, and a broken left arm. He was airlifted to St. Joe Regional Medical Center for treatment of his injuries.

The other rider suffered minor injuries.
