Mobile food distributions for those in need in Michiana

ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind. -- The Food Bank of Northern Indiana will have mobile food distributions in St. Joseph County and Kosciusko County this week.

On Thursday, June 27, from 10 a.m. to noon, or while supplies last, the mobile food pantry will be at Liberty Elementary School, located at 600 Pregel Dr. in Mishawaka.

Thursday's distribution is sponsored by LIPPERT and will serve 200 households.

On Friday, June 28, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., or while supplies last, the mobile food pantry will be at the former Helping Hands Food Pantry, located at 10072 W. 600 South in Mentone.

Friday's distribution is provided by the USDA and will serve 150 households.

The assorted food items will be offered free of charge and all items will be pre-boxed and pre-bagged.

Both distributions are first come, first served, while supplies last for those in need of food assistance.

Each household is limited to one box/bag.

Distributions are drive through style and organizers ask you to remain in your car and open your trunk to receive items.

If your trunk does not open, an area will be available for self-loading.
