MISHAWAKA, Ind. -- The Mishawaka Police Department responded to a domestic violence complaint Tuesday morning that resulted in one woman being arrested after a 90-minute standoff with police. 

The MPD says they responded to 4522 Hickory Road at the Hickory Village Apartment Complex around 7:12 a.m. on April 29.

"Reports were that the adult female in the apartment was threatening the adult male while armed with a machete," MDP said.

"After an approximate 90-minute standoff with the female, she was taken into custody. She was transported to a local hospital for a mental health evaluation."

Reports were also filed with the St. Joseph Prosecutor's Office, but no formal charges have been announced.
