Mishawaka Veterans Honor Day commemoration and dedication Saturday
MISHAWAKA, Ind. -- The City of Mishawaka announced it will hold its Mishawaka Veterans Honor Day ceremony on Saturday at 10 a.m. at the Pearl Harbor display at city hall for a commemoration and dedication.
City officials invite veterans and community members to gather to honor the men and women who've served the U.S. through military service as part of Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day.
In addition to commemorating Pearl Harbor, the city will dedicate a new Civil War battle flag and plaques to honor Mishawaka soldiers and veterans who fought and died during that war.
Officials say this is to ensure their legacy is preserved.
Officials add this event is not just a day of honor but also of education and reflection, as we pass on these stories of bravery and sacrifice to future generations.
