MISHAWAKA, Ind. -- The Princess City is preparing to allow legal drinking on its riverwalk.
The city recently approved a “Designated Outdoor Refreshment Area” or DORA to attract more people to the city and its businesses.
To-go beverages will be served in specially marked containers from three vendors along Ironworks Plaza for those over 21 who wish to partake.
Sun King Brewery, Social Cantina, and The Mishawaka Public House met with the city Thursday to discuss plans as the ordinance has now passed.
The city is still waiting on the final green light from the state, but businesses are excited to get things flowing.
If all goes well, the city will consider expanding the program.
