Mishawaka Cavemen put in quarantine as a precaution

MISHAWAKA, Ind. – The School City of Mishawaka was notified that someone within the South Bend Adams High School football program tested positive for coronavirus Saturday morning. Due to Mishawaka playing against Adams Friday night, the school has decided to go forward with a quarantine.

SCM consulted with the St. Joseph County Department of Health to determine the next step once they received the news.

In the interests of being safe, SCM has decided to put the football players into quarantine until further notice.

The school is currently working on contact tracing.

“I realize the timing of this news is not what any of us want to hear following last night’s third straight sectional championship in football; however, the safety interests of our student-athletes is paramount,” said SCM Superintendent of Schools Wayne Barker.
