MISHAWAKA, Ind. -- The Jimmy John’s at Main Street Marketplace in Mishawaka closed early Wednesday after a car crashed into the storefront, causing damage to the front windows and door.
The crash happened shortly after 4 p.m. when a driver parked in front of the store accidentally shifted into the wrong gear.
No injuries were reported, and owner Zack Venzon said the damage was limited to the storefront’s glass windows and front door.
The restaurant planned to board up the damaged area Wednesday night. The store expects to resume operations Thursday, with delivery-only service while the storefront glass is replaced.
The crash is not the first time a vehicle has struck a business in the shopping strip. Taste of Asia was hit by a car in 2024, after a similar incident in 2017.
