Middlebury Schools handing out free 'Gold Cards' to seniors in the district

MIDDLEBURY, Ind. -- Middlebury Community Schools rolled out a new program this fall by issuing what they call Gold Cards to anyone over the age of 60 that live in the school district.

The cards are good for free admission to a long list of school events including spots, concerts, plays, and more.

"Thank you for being a valuable part of our community," the Middlebury Superintendent said. "We hope you take advantage of this Gold Card and choose to attend future events, supporting our students and staff at Middlebury Community Schools."

Full statement from Middlebury Schools Superintendent Jayson Snyder:

Greetings,

Middlebury Community Schools recognizes you as a valuable member of our community, and we want to thank you for living in our school district. We believe that our school district is stronger when we are engaged in the community and the community is engaged in our schools. There are countless opportunities for you to connect with our school district. We would be excited to have you partner with us by attending future events at no cost. We would love to see you at an athletic event, a musical performance, or school theater production.

I would like to provide you with a Middlebury Community Schools Gold Card (enclosed). We are offering this card to every person 60 years and older who lives within our school district. This card allows you to attend any of our school plays, musicals, concerts, and home athletic events free of charge (excluding IHSAA tournaments and events with reserved seats). All you need to do is show this Gold Card to the ticket taker at the event, and enjoy yourself. To learn more about upcoming events, please keep an eye on our social media accounts or visit our website at www.mcsin-k12.org. Please keep in mind that this card is non-transferable.

Thank you for being a valuable part of our community. We hope you take advantage of this Gold Card and choose to attend future events, supporting our students and staff at Middlebury Community Schools.

If you have any questions, please call us at 574-825-9425.

Sincerely,
Dr. Jayson Snyder Superintendent
