MICHIGAN – A website is now helping teachers in Michigan pay for extra classroom supplies.
Classroom Giving was started by a New York City man who was stunned to learn how little teachers are paid and still often pay out of pocket to help their students.
The U.S. Department of Education says teachers spend about $429 a year of their own money for extra books, art supplies, pens, pencils and more.
Michigan teachers can now create an Amazon wish list of supplies they are looking for in the classroom.
