Abortion is a key issue for the governor's race in Michigan.
Voters will have to choose between Tudor Dixon, the Republican candidate, and current governor, Democrat Gretchen Whitmer, this November.
The two have very different views on the issue of abortion.
Dixon has said she is very much in favor of a near total ban.
Whitmer has very publicly fought against such bans since the overturning of Roe v. Wade in June.
"The vast majority of people in the state support a woman being able to make her own decision, whether it's one they would or not," said Whitmer.
Governor Whitmer became a national figure during the pandemic for her strong stance on closures and masks.
She remains in the national eye for her equally strong stance on abortion rights.
Tudor Dixon has kept a low profile on the campaign trail since winning the Republican primary in early August.
