Michigan City man sentenced to over four years in prison for firearm offense
SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- The United States Attorney’s Office Northern District of Indiana announced that 41-year-old Andre Anderson-Dawson, of Michigan City, has been sentenced after pleading guilty to being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm.
Court documents state Anderson-Dawson is sentenced to four years and 10 months in prison followed by 3 years of supervised release.
In December 2019, Anderson-Dawson violated a protective order while armed with a stolen 9-millimeter firearm, which police later recovered.
Anderson-Dawson was previously convicted of a felony, so he was prohibited from having firearms.
He pled guilty to the federal charge in October 2023.
While on release awaiting sentencing, Anderson-Dawson was allegedly involved in conduct resulting in three state court felony domestic battery charges.
