SOUTH BEND, Ind. – The St. Joseph County Metro Homicide Unit is investigating reports of a shooting that happened in South Bend Saturday evening, resulting in the injuries of one victim.
The shooting occurred in the 500 block of W. Marion St.
According to Asst. Commander Wells with Metro Homicide, the victim of the shooting was taken to Memorial Hospital for their injuries but their condition is unknown at this time.
Officials said that a person fled the Marion Street scene, stole a car, and led a pursuit with county officers, which stopped near the South Bend airport.
Wells said the person who fled did so with the weapon used on Marion Street.
Metro Homicide is currently on scene at the airport investigating this incident.
