Mechanical failure believed to be cause of Friday helicopter crash in Marshall County

MARSHALL COUNTY, Ind. -- Multiple agencies are investigating after a helicopter crashed in Marshall County on Friday. 

Authorities say the helicopter went down around 4:55 p.m. on Friday afternoon in a cornfield near the 11,000 block of 7B Road

"Marshall County Sheriff's Department and Plymouth Fire/EMS responded to the scene and located the Pilot and Passenger," authorities said. "Both occupants sustained minor injuries."

The preliminary investigation seems to indicate the cause of the crash mechanical failure.

The National Traffic Safety Board and Federal Aviation Administration are still investigating this incident.
