CASSOPOLIS, Mich. -- The Midwest Energy & Communications (MEC) company sent out an update to the public at 4 p.m. on Monday saying that crews continue to work on restoration, with about 5,600 still without power.

"Approximately 44 of those are in Lenawee County, Michigan, and the rest are in southwest Michigan," MEC said.

"The largest outages are in the townships of Milton, Calvin, Jefferson, Silver Creek, Waverly, Wayne, Marcellus, Hamilton, Decatur, Howard, Volinia, and Constantine."

A complete list of outages can be found online.

MEC says it hopes to have 95 percent of customers restored by late Wednesday; however, some with extenuating circumstances will have outages carry over into Thursday.
