SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- South Bend mayor, James Mueller, reiterated his support for the development of AI data centers in Michiana on Wednesday morning.
"We believe a data center can address many of the concerns that have been raised about data centers generally and can really be a tremendous community win for us." Said Mayor Mueller. "Our economy works as a region, so this is going to be positive for our economy in the region."
Mayor Mueller's comments come exactly one week after a packed community meeting focused on the impacts of a Microsoft data center planned near Capital Avenue and Cleveland Road on the Old St. Joseph Farms Property where residents say they were left with more questions than answers due to non-disclosure agreements keeping the details of the plan wrapped up.
