Marian High School hosts jersey retirement ceremony for former standout basketball players

MISHAWAKA, Ind. -- Marian High School and Athletic Director Steve Ravotto announced there will be a jersey retirement ceremony on Friday night for three former standout basketball players Demetrius Jackson, Devin Cannady, and Jaden Ivey.

The ceremony is set to take place during halftime at the Holy War in the Marian High School Gymnasium.

Cannady's #3 jersey, Jackson's #11 jersey, and Ivey's #13 jersey will be retired. Tip-off will be at 7:30 p.m.

School officials say Jackson, Cannady, and Ivey attended Marian and continued their successes at the collegiate and professional levels.

Jackson is Marian’s all-time scoring leader with 1,934 career points, and Marian’s 1st Indiana All Star and McDonald’s All American, while officials say Cannady ranks 3rd in career points with 1,475 and was an Indiana All Star.

Ivey ranks 8th all-time in career points and officials say he is the single season point leader with 600.

School officials add that all three were voted MVP of the Northern Indiana Conference and led the Knights to a conference championship
