VAN BUREN COUNTY, Mich. -- The Van Buren County Sheriff's Office reports deputies responded to a residence in the 84000 block of 42nd Street in Decatur Township around 10:25 p.m. Thursday for a reported shooting.

Authorities learned an unknown suspect had fired multiple shots at home from a vehicle before fleeing the scene.

A 25-year-old Decatur man was on the porch at the time and was struck by one of the rounds.

He was taken to the hospital with critical, but non-life-threatening injuries.

Investigators spent multiple hours collecting evidence and interviewing subjects on scene.

Authorities say the investigation is ongoing.

This is believed to be an isolated incident and there's no danger to the public.

No arrests have been made at this time.
