Back home in downtown South Bend, YMCA to open new location
SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- The man responsible for killing D'Angelo Jennings has been captured.
Authorities say 18-year-old Torreay Jordan Fennessee, a South Bend native, was apprehended and booked on preliminary suspicion of Manslaughter
No formal charges have been filed at this time.
The teen who was killed Thursday night at a home in the 1800 block of N. Johnson Street has been identified as well.
South Bend Police was called to the scene around 10 p.m. after reports of a shooting and located 17-year-old D'Angelo Jennings with gunshot wounds.
His nephew, Shane Inez, said his family learned of his 17-year-old uncle's death through a phone call from his cousin and later confirmed through Facebook.
The St. Joseph County Metro Homicide Unit is investigating.
An autopsy is scheduled for Saturday morning.
