SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- Republican Congressman Rudy Yakym (IN-02) sat down with ABC57's Tim Spears amid nationwide protests over the Israel-Hamas War.
Congressman Yakym is calling for the protection of Jewish students and faculty amid the protests through a piece of legislation he introduced, the "PROTECT Jewish Students and Faculty Act."
The act would make universities adopt the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance’s working definition of anti-Semitism in order to receive Title IV federal funding for financial aid.
He also spoke about what the response to the nationwide protests should be and what the U.S. approach toward Hamas should be.
