Fourth of July party kicks off at New Paris Speedway Thursday night

NEW PARIS, Ind. -- The fuse on the annual Kaboom Festival at New Paris Speedway will officially be lit on Thursday night as the track celebrates Independence Night of Destruction and Fireworks.
"Well, this is our annual July 3 always occurs on July 3, celebration of independence, night of destruction and fireworks display," track co-owner Tracy Anglemeyer-Mandell said.
"Always a huge event for us, probably our second largest night of destruction of the year, other than opening night, which is late April, early May, depending on how our schedule works out."
The event features racers who want to come and compete and families who come to tailgate and grill.
"We like to kick off the July 4 weekend with July 3. Everybody has a fourth off. So come on out, you know, tonight, July 3. Kick it off. Kick it off, right," said co-owner of the track Chris Mandell.
"And then they can go out family, do other things. You know, we allow them to bring in their coolers. Here, no glass. Your girls come out, bring the family. It's very affordable. It's a fun night."
There is also a fireworks show to end off the night.
"You know, we've owned the property. We try to continuously make improvements to the property, you know, keep it clean, keep the curb appeal good, you know, within the first day after an event, and try to promote as much as a family atmosphere as possible, keeping it family friendly, family fun," Mandell said.
"That's kind of a thing that we go for out here. Bring your families out. Like I said, you can bring your girls. Have a blast. Bring your kids out."
