Man charged with child solicitation, vicarious sexual gratification

MARSHALL COUNTY, Ind. -- A 31-year-old man has been charged with child solicitation and vicarious sexual gratification, according to the Marshall County Sheriff's Office.
The suspect, Joas Schmucker, was charged on August 12 for an incident that allegedly happened in June 2013, according to court records.
His bond is set at $25,000 cash.
UPDATE: In June of 2022, Schmucker was found guilty for child solicitation as part of a plea agreement. His charge for vicarious sexual gratification was dismissed. He was sentenced to three years at the Indiana Department of Correction with one and a half years served at MCCC and one and a half years suspended. Schmucker was also given one and a half years probation.
