Man arrested on several drug charges in Marshall County

MARSHALL COUNTY, Ind. -- The Marshall County Sheriff's Office reports that a K9 deputy was requested to the area of Plymouth-La Porte Trail and Rose Road around 11:58 p.m. on Jan. 17, regarding a suspicious person and vehicle.

Officers with the Plymouth Police Department also responded to the scene.

Authorities identified the suspicious person as 43-year-old Joseph Cummins.

The report states Marshall County K9 Diesel conducted an open-air sniff around the vehicle while on the scene, alerting officers to the presence of narcotic odors inside the vehicle.

Authorities then conducted a search of the vehicle where the report states suspected methamphetamine, marijuana, and drug paraphernalia were found.

Cummins was booked for Possession of Methamphetamine, a Level 6 Felony, Possession of Marijuana with a Prior Conviction, a Class A Misdemeanor, and Possession of Paraphernalia, a Class C Misdemeanor.

An order finding probable cause was signed and Cummins was given a $10,000 bond.
