Man arrested for invasion of privacy, failure to appear for domestic battery and strangulation charges

ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind. -- The St. Joseph County Police Department reports their Warrants Team along with the Traffic Division located a wanted man in the 52000 block of Forestbrook Avenue on Monday.
The wanted man, identified as 40-year-old Chad Raptis, was found hiding under miscellaneous items in a basement and was subsequently arrested.
Raptis was wanted for failure to appear for the charges of Felony Strangulation, Felony Domestic Battery and Being Previously Convicted of Battery or Strangulation, and Misdemeanor Domestic Battery.
Police say Raptis is also facing a new preliminary charge of Invasion of Privacy for violating a protective order.
This case has been sent to the St. Joseph County Prosecutor’s Office for further review.
