Man arrested after allegedly shooting girlfriend

BENTON TOWNSHIP, Mich. -- A man was arrested after allegedly shooting his girlfriend early Monday morning, according to Benton Township Police.

Police were called to the Sunny Spot on Pipestone Road in Benton Harbor at 1:19 a.m. for a shooting victim.

When police arrived, they learned the victim had been shot by her boyfriend, Dewayne Devahn Osler in the 1300 block of Agard.

Officers took Osler into custody without incident on preliminary charges of attempted murder, carrying a concealed weapon and felon in possession of a firearm.

The victim suffered a gunshot wound to the right arm, police said.

The Benton Harbor Department of Public Safety and the Berrien County Sheriff's Office also participated in the investigation.
