Man accused of four armed robberies in Berrien County arrested Friday

BERRIEN COUNTY, Mich. -- Multiple local and state agencies came together to capture a man wanted for four different armed robberies that took place in Berrien County over the course of roughly five months. 

After the fourth armed robbery took place at the BP Gas Station in Berrien Spring on Thursday morning, 38-year-old Edward Turner was taken into custody and is currently being held at the Berrien County Sheriff’s Office Jail on a $250,000 cash surety bond.

On Nov. 14, Turner was arraigned in Berrien County for the following charges:

  • Four counts of Armed Robbery
  • Four counts of Felony Firearm
  • Four counts of Felon in Possession of a Firearm

The armed robberies took place at the following locations:

  • 06-25-24 The Dollar General located at 9169 M139 Berrien Springs, MI
  • 09-06-24 The Dollar General located at 3962 M139 Saint Joseph, MI
  • 10-10-24 The Dollar General located at 1393 M139 Benton Harbor, MI
  • 11-14-24 The BP Gas Station located at 8736 Old 31 Berrien Springs, MI

Search warrants were executed for Turner’s residence and vehicle following him being taken into custody. Evidence of the armed robberies to include the firearm being used was seized, according to authorities.

Partner agencies include the FBI Saint Joseph RA, Michigan State Police Major Crimes Unit, Benton Twp Police, & Berrien Springs Oronoko Twp Police.
