BRISTOL, Ind. -- Richard and Anna Rohr have been running Backwoods Deer Processing for the better part of the past 30 years, and for the first time in their history they are Taking part in the Indiana Department of Natural Resources' "Hunt for Hunger" campaign.

The hunt for hunger campaign began in 2008, with the goal of providing hundreds of thousands of meals for hungry Hoosiers across the state, and for the Rohr's, this will be their first year taking part.

"We have a lot of people that we know that need meat, and are willing to use anything for meat, for their children," Co-owner Anna Rohr says.

As of this year, Backwoods Processing has become one of over 60 deer processing businesses across the Hoosier state to enroll in this program.

From hunting to processing, and giving it to a local foodbank for co-owner Richard Rohr, it can be a tedious process which takes patience.

"It'll take a couple, three hours from start to finish," Richard Rohr says. "You know, get it filled, dressed, and hanging in the cooler, get it cooled out, and then the next day or two, start cutting."

Both Richard and Anna are preparing for a big turnout this season in hopes of feeding the local community.
