How officers stay safe in winter weather
SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- If you are driving over the long holiday break, you should be able to save some cash.
The average price for a gallon of gas in South Bend is $2.77 a gallon.
It's the first time since 2020 gas hasn't cost more than $3/gallon for Christmas travel.
In South Bend, prices stand at 31.4 cents/gallon lower than a year ago, and 17.9 cents lower in just one week.
Experts say, it's looking like a gift that will keep on giving.
“For a fourth straight week, the national average price of gasoline has declined, as conditions remain ripe for some of the lowest seasonal gas prices in five years," says the Head of Petroleum Analysis at GasBuddy, Patrick De Haan. “Oil prices continue to struggle amid rising U.S., Canadian, and OPEC+ oil production, while refinery output remains near some of the highest seasonal levels in years— factors that are likely to keep gas prices under pressure over the weeks ahead."
