STEVENSVILLE, Mich – Local fire crews from Lincoln Township fire department being assisted by the Royalton Township and Lake Township fire department are investigating the cause of a house fire in Stevensville.
“It happened so fast you really don’t even have time to really think about it,” Homeowner Ron Elias said.
Fire crews were dispatched to the 6300 block of Brookpark Drive in Stevensville where a homeowner says his lawnmower and garage went up in flames when he stored the lawnmower in the garage after mowing his lawn.
Ron Elias and his wife Lisa escaped the house without being injured.
Fire crews successfully put out the fire and say they’re investigating to determine an official cause of the fire.
“I have never been in a fire before but when you do see that smoke you just need to get out because it just went up so fast,” Homeowner Lisa Elias said.
