ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind. – The City of South Bend and the University of Notre Dame joined Washington D.C. and many other communities across the country to honor the 400,000 lives lost to the coronavirus.
President-Elect Joe Biden and Vice President-Elect Kamala Harris were joined by their spouses at a ceremony at the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool.
Students and faculty at Notre Dame gathered on campus to ring the bells of the Basilica of the Sacred Heart and light the “Word of Life” on the south side of the campus.
In downtown South Bend, the city lit up the St. Joseph River in amber to honor the lives lost.
