Lightning strike causes house fire near Plymouth

MARSHALL COUNTY, Ind-- Firefighters think lightning is to blame for a house fire near Plymouth.

The fire sparked around 12:30 Thursday morning at a home on State Road 17.  The homeowner told fire crews he heard a loud clap, believed to be a lightning strike.

That is when the fire started and emergency crews were called.

"It was a little difficult, it was a mobile home that had been added on to so a little more difficult than your average residential fire," said Fire Chief Rod Miller.

After about 2 hours, firefighters finally put out the flames. No injuries were reported.
