SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- Notre Dame safety Kyle Hamilton is selected as the 14th overall pick in the 2022 NFL draft to the Baltimore Ravens. He will join an elite and destructive young defense with players like Marlon Humphrey and Calais Campbell.
Hamilton was joined by his family and Notre Dame football head coach, Marcus Freeman, in Las Vegas on the biggest night of his life.
Described by analysts as a defensive back that can do it all, standing at six feet four inches and weighing 220 pounds, and able to get the ball from anywhere on the field. These attributes led him to eight interceptions in his three years with the Irish.
The defense was a hot commodity in the first round as the Detroit Lions took the hometown kid, Aidan Hutchinson, the defensive end from the University of Michigan with the second overall pick.
The first round of the draft kept the adrenaline going with Purdue's defensive end, George Karlaft, who is being drafted as the 30th pick to the Kansas City Chiefs.
The draft will continue Friday in Las Vegas with rounds two and three.
