Kosciusko County councilwoman will serve six days in jail for OWI

KOSCIUSKO COUNTY, Ind. -- On March 9, Kosciusko County councilwoman Kimberly Cates was charged Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated Endangering a Person and Operating a Vehicle with an ACE of .15 or More, and last week she was sentenced to six days in jail as part of a plea agreement.

As part of the agreement, the charge for OWI with an ACE of .15 or more was dismissed and the charge of OWI Endangering a Person was upheld. For that charge, Cates was sentenced to 365 days in jail with 359 of those days suspended. 

Cates began her sentence of six days incarceration on Aug. 30. and is scheduled to be released Thursday, Sept. 5.
