Juvenile allegedly fires shot at car in Elkhart County

ELKHART COUNTY, Ind. -- The Elkhart County Sheriff's Department responded to a shots fired call in the 30000 block of Swede Drive in Elkhart County at around 9:47 a.m. on Thursday. 

"Responding deputies were contacted by an adult female advising that a juvenile male had discharged a firearm at her vehicle," the ECSO said. "After a brief search of the area a juvenile male was located and detained. Investigators with the sheriff's office were called to the scene to continue the investigation, which is in progress at this time."

No further details have been released due to the ongoing investigation.

Deputies say this appears to be an isolated incident with no indication of further threat to the community.
