SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- Jalen Haralson had his pick of college basketball's elite programs, but he wasn't just looking for success on the court.

He needed more. "The reason I chose Notre Dame is they felt like a family," said the Notre Dame Basketball Commit. "When I stepped on campus, it was students, hey Jalen, introducing themselves to me, staff, teachers, introducing themselves to me and telling me that, man, they really want me to go here."

The 6 foot 7 4/5 inches tall star recruit is the highest rated player to sign with Notre Dame in over 20 years.

"Jalen is one of the guys that enhances who we're going to be as a program, but I told him that, like, he gets a chance to kind of legitimize Notre Dame and say it's, it's cool to go to Notre Dame, and I can reach all of my goals at Notre Dame," said Notre Dame Men's Basketball Coach Micah Shrewsberry.

Haralson is averaging 15 points, 6 rebounds, and 5 assists per game, and Shrewsberry not only sees the positives of his game but where he can help him improve.

Not only is Haralson one of the most sought-after players in the country, he can now add McDonald's All-American to his list of accomplishments, joining the likes of Michael Jordan, Lebron James, And Shaquille O'Neal as the best high school players in history.

Notre Dame has not only been the perfect fit for Haralson but also the perfect location, being only two and a half hours from his hometown of Anderson, Ind.
