IUSB renames School of Business and Economics

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- IU South Bend's School of Business and Economics got a major shot in the arm thanks to the largest donation in school history.

The Judd Leighton Foundation gave $4 million to the business school.

The late philanthropist was a life-long resident of South Bend.

The donation will support scholarships, graduate fellowships and faculty development.

"This act of generosity will help attract outstanding students and faculty," said Chancellor Una Mae Reck. "It will propel the school forward to achieve even greater goals in the future."

The donation also includes money for renovations to the Administration Building and the School of Business which will now bare Leighton's name.
